Disneyland!

We took our very first family vacation this week - to Disneyland, the best place on earth :) Rutherford might have been a *little* on the young side for an amusement park, but he had a lot of fun and it was a great experience for all of us. He was a real trooper (even tho he got sick the day we left) and went on lots of rides, had fun breakfasts with his favorite characters and got his first taste of the magic of Disneyland.

Ned and I learned a lot from this trip and we're excited to do some more traveling with our little guy!

Here's some pics from our adventure:

Sleeping in the car on the way up with Mickey.

Checking out the balcony outside our room - Rutherford called it our "new room" and loved exploring the closet, balcony and bathroom.

Day one: crawling thru the tunnels at Goofy's playhouse in Toontown.

R's favorite ride was the Teacups! He loved the yellow teacups and kept requesting that specific cup whenever we'd be in line for the ride.

Day two: unbelievably cute Mickey overalls.

The Chew Chew Train at DCA's Bug's Life Land was a big hit.

Waiting in line for Storybook Canal Boats with the Matterhorn in the background.

Had my birthday dinner at Big Thunder BBQ, this one of my favorite events during our trip. The food is pretty good (for Disneyland), they've got some fun country-western singers/musicians that provide entertainment and R just loved their songs. He was really happy with his big boy milk cup with a straw and I got a happy birthday sundae that we all shared. The best.

After dinner we hit the carousel twice with R.

He gave his horsie a big hug.

Day three: The morning view from our balcony!

Character breakfast at Disneyland - R was a wee bit wary of the characters, but Dale and Captain Hook tickled him and got him laughing.

Tigger played hide n seek with R.

Minnie might have been his favorite. He even offered her blueberries.

The best part of character breakfast for R was the balloon they gave him. He batted it around in his stroller all morning!
