Houston!

Ned, Rutherford and I took our first trip to Texas together :) We were a bit nervous about flying with R for the first time, but he was a real trooper. It was fun to see everyone and R loved his little adventure :)

 

 Rutherford was amazing on the plane. On the way out, he fell asleep almost as soon as the plane took off!

 After arrival, R played with Mimi Charlotte (he's calling both grandmas "mimi" which is totally adorable) in the car.

 We hit up Goode Company for BBQ!

 Jumping on the bed at our hotel - Rutherford LOVED staying there and everyone was very sweet to him. He liked running up and down the halls and looking at the fish in the aquarium in the lobby :)

 We spent a morning at Bobby's office. R got to meet Bob and Doris, play with fun office supplies and help GrandBob out.

 We visited Adam, Amanda, AJ, Olivia, Owen, Wayne and Jackie at their awesome new place in Bellaire. R had SO much fun playing with AJ and Liv - especially their adorable little playhouse and awesome matching convertible Mercedes!

Rutherford said his name today! It's the first time ever! And Ned and I just happened to both be hanging out with our little man (R was swimming in his new blow-up pool) when he said it!

For a while, R has been calling himself "Yahzah," like pointing to himself and saying "yahzah does it." I'm not exactly sure where that came from but it's pretty cute. I have asked him a few times to say "Rutherford" but he's always shaken his head and I haven't pushed it. But today when he was swimming, he grabbed for juice and said "Raraferd does it."

This week Rutherford has been hanging out in his new teepee. He calls is his "two pee pee." He also loves pointing out all the colors on his new checkerboard rug.I really like the way his little area in the family room has come along.

Today we went for yogurt after Ned was done with work. Rutherford tried the red velvet and then said it was his favorite. So cute to hear him say that.

At night when I get R ready for his bath and bed, he is very chatty and cute. I am realizing quickly that we now have a little boy and not a baby anymore. It makes me try so hard to stay in the moment with him. I know this time will be over so soon.
